STARS trains extraordinary talented students from economically backward families. Most of the trainees excel in district, state, national level championships. Stars is focusing on Basketball training to young children who are of the age level between 10 and 19 years and train them till they reach 12th Standard.

Education with a focus on Sports Training and Charitable Activities. We are promoting Sports, Arts, music and Culture in the Operational and have directly or indirectly supported hundreds of financially backward families by helping them excel in their field of sports and find a source of living.
Board of Trustees
The Board of Trustees for STARS includes President Fr. Dr. Kurian Chalangady CMI, Secretary Fr. Antony Kanjirathinakal CMI, and Treasurer Fr. Luka Antony Chavara CMI. They are responsible for overseeing the organization's operations and finances.

Achievements and Impact
Over the past decade, STARS has conducted various programs and projects among children, youth as well as the general public. With many successful programs and projects to our credit, we have embarked on our ambitious project - St. Ephrem's Sports Academy at Mannanam in the Kottayam District of Kerala in association with Kerala State Sports Council (for Basketball for Boys) and Kerala Cricket Association (for Cricket for Boys and Girls).
The trust is making a remarkable difference in the community by offering high-quality sports training to underprivileged children. Through the academy, young athletes are given the opportunity to hone their skills in sports like basketball and cricket.
As a result, many of them are now emerging as young, talented sportsmen. This has not only boosted their confidence but also allowed them to explore a possible career in sports. Apart from providing training, the trust has created a supportive environment that fosters discipline, teamwork and sportsmanship. With increased access to sports education, the children are also learning important life skills such as leadership, time management and determination. The trust's efforts have been commendable, as they are making a genuine impact on the lives of these children while also contributing to society by producing skilled athletes. Overall, by empowering these children, the trust has ignited their passion for sports and given them a chance to reach their full potential.

Milestones
St. Ephrem's Sports Academy was initiated and established in the year
2003-2004.
Kerala State Sports Council partnered with us and established the state
basketball academy in the year 2003-2004.
In the year 2009 further Kerala Cricket Association joined us and
started its state cricket academy for boys and girl.
In the due course of the thought of finding young talents and supporting them to become successful sports personalities, the CMI management came up with the idea of starting a charitable trust called the Stars-Sports Training Aid Rendering Scheme in the year 2011.
Over the years, the academy has grown in leaps and bounds taking care of the interests of players from variegated backgrounds. It has been a great help to many students hailing from financially stressed environments. It has also produced State, National, and internationally acclaimed sportspersons of stellar and outstanding traits. The Basketball Team functioning under the Academy has notched up many successes in various Basketball Tournaments at the State and National levels.
Partnership and Collaboration
The trust through its Sports academy partnered with the Kerala State Sports Council, which helped establish the state basketball championship in 2007. Since then, the academy has achieved many milestones, including producing state and national-level athletes, winning various championships, and becoming a renowned institution for sports training. The organization also associates with Kerala Basket Ball Association and Kerala Cricket Association. We are also associating and partnering with likeminded charitable organizations such as Sargakshetra Cultural and Charitable Centre Changanassery (UN Consultative status NGO), and with academic institutions such as St. Ephrem's Higher Secondary School Mannanam, St.Joseph's U P School, K E School Mannanam, Christ Nagar School Thiruvallam, Thiruvananthapuram, K.E College Mannanam and Christ University, Bengaluru.
Future Plans and Goals
Currently, we are constructing a new residential training centre with advanced facilities for our players in Mannanam. The trust plans to expand its offerings by introducing new sports and building partnerships with leading sporting organizations and institutions. It also aims to groom players who can compete at national and international levels and develop character and leadership skills in them. We plan to establish ties with corporations, sponsors, and sports authorities to create sustainable funding models and support the holistic development of student players.
